INTRODUCTION
Puentes was formed by a group of visionaries who shared the common goal of achieving a fair society, where differences would not create divisions, but instead opportunities for well-being and understanding between people.
In 2012 a group of representatives from different agencies recognized that Spanish-speaking community members were facing obstacles in accessing services and resources that support a full life. Organically, the agency representatives joined efforts to find a solution. In the process they realized that community members were sharing their knowledge with one another, strengthening the impact of their efforts. From there the agency representatives began working to empower the volunteer leaders interested in the common good of the community.
The Puentes Network's mission is to empower community leaders and community representatives to be agents of personal and collective change to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.
